Jen's Gown Detail Session, Salem, MA

The other day I received a message from one of our 2010 brides, the wonderful Jen, about taking some post-wedding photos for her. She is considering having her gown consigned and wanted to have some additional shots taken before she did so. The day of her wedding was a bit hectic while she was getting dressed, and we didn't have a ton of time for some of the dress details we would have liked to do. I was so happy to have the chance to revisit this amazing gown and to try to capture those details for her. I think this is a great idea for any bride that wants to expand the collection of photos of their beautiful gowns! There isn't always a lot of time to spend with the gown before you are walking down the aisle in it, and what a good excuse to get it out of the closet...and dare I say it, maybe try it on? :) Here are a few of my favorites from yesterday's session!

Jen & Tim's Engagement Session, Arnold Arboretum, Boston, MA

We have been super lucky with the unseasonably mild weather so we headed over to the gorgeous Arnold Arboretum in Boston for our engagement session with Jen and Tim. These two couldn't have been sweeter, and we can't wait to photograph their wedding at the Commander's Mansion in Watertown this spring!

Pamela & Jordan's Engagement Session, Newport RI

We drove down to picturesque Newport for Pamela and Jordan's engagement session. Pamela went to Salve so this is her old stomping grounds, and the two got engaged just down the street from the gorgeous campus at Bouchard's on Thames...so they didn't have to think too long about where they wanted to have their session. We started at the engagement location, then headed over to the Cliffwalk (wow.) then over to the Bowen's Wharf area where Mother Nature hooked us up with a spectacular finale sunset. Pam and Jordan (so much fun!) combined with these backdrops made for a wonderful day- can't wait for their wedding in April!

Sheila & Tom's Wedding at the Milton Hoosic Club, Milton, MA-Part II

Here is a selection of photos from Sheila and Tom's reception...so hard to narrow these down to a "blog-sized" number! The Milton Hoosic Club was a fantastic venue- we certainly hope to get back there in the future!

The bridesmaids' bouquets were lovely, though I am partial to this color scheme...used it for our own wedding back in 2007 :)

There was a gigantic and gorgeous mirror above the fireplace- had to take advantage of the way the room was reflected...

Sheila & Tom's Wedding at the Milton Hoosic Club, Milton, MA-Part I

Sheila and Tom were married on November 19th, 2011. The ceremony was held at the lovely St. Mary of the Hills Church, and the reception at the Milton Hoosic Club, both in Milton, MA. The bride and groom were a breeze to work with, as well as the wonderful wedding party! We had a great time photographing this wedding, as it was so clear that Sheila and Tom were very much in love-and were thrilled to share that with their friends and families from near and far.

Lisa & Chris Engagement Session, Wayland, MA

We had a beautiful, sunny, breezy, very New England, autumn day with Lisa and Chris to capture their engagement photos. Lisa and Chris were such troopers- from the wind and the brisk temperatures to the late afternoon sun blinding them between location changes. This couple was so much fun to work with, and we can't wait to photograph their wedding day next June!

Check out some of the favorites from our Fall portrait session with our dear friends, the Whitman family! Theresa, Mark and their adorable daughter, Maggie, chose Castle Hill in Ipswich, MA as their location, as this is a place with lots of special meaning for them...T and Mark were even married there. What a gorgeous location, and a gorgeous family! Thanks for a great shoot guys! These two are extremely talented and you couldn't work with better people.)

Meghan & Jim's Wedding at Ocean View Inn, Gloucester, MA

Ocean View Inn in Gloucester, MA is a beautiful venue for a wedding, and Meghan and Jim were a beautiful couple to photograph- inside and out. Take a look at some of our favorite moments and details from their wedding day.

The inside of the Inn houses a restaurant that was closed for the day so the wedding guests could have the space all to themselves. Not a bad view of the Atlantic right outside the windows.

Before the ceremony began, we had a chance to sneak away with Meghan and Jim to take some photos on the water's edge. They were troopers and got right down on Bass Rocks for the shots.

Check out the lovely bouquets, and the cupcakes! Yum! Meghan and Jim are Sox and Yankees fans, respectively, and they used that little detail on the cupcake designs.

The guests all took a wand upon entering the ceremony area which they happily waved as the new Mr. and Mrs. were announced for the first time. The flower girls were Meghan and Jim's nieces. Instead of flowers they carried pinwheels which were perfect for the coastal breezes that day!

Bevin and Dave's Wedding at the Tunxis Pavilion in Farmington, CT- Part II

Bevin and Dave told us they didn't want to do the "standard-line-up-and-smile" type shots, so we had some fun with the group. They were all such great sports and were totally willing to do whatever Bevin and Dave asked.

Then we had some time alone with the newlyweds for some photos...

Bevin and Dave's Wedding at the Tunxis Pavilion in Farmington, CT- Part I

Bevin and Dave were simply wonderful. Their wedding day was planned beautifully, with so many gorgeous details, all handmade by the couple and their very creative friends and family.

The Tunxis Pavilion was the perfect backdrop for this thoughtful and fun celebration.

The cake was adorned in the couples' wedding colors of red and teal, and topped by an adorable "robot couple" handmade by Bevin's brother

Paper flowers decorated the cake stand and hanging paper umbrellas brought the gorgeous colors to the Pavilion's ceiling.

Shot of the back of one of the table number cards- each table had this heart with different papers chosen by Bevin and Dave.

The guests' chairs each had a red carnation waiting on them with a program which doubled as a fan- very useful in the early September heat!

Handmade paper heart garland was strung all around the venue- it was such a great pop of color, and so precious.

Peacock feathers added a great texture and spray of contrasting color to the flower arrangements. Bevin and her bridesmaids wore peacock feather fascinators in their hair as well. The favors were delicious homemade jams on each plate, all dressed in different colorful fabrics and bows.

The altar was decorated with more handmade paper flowers, as well as the fabric garland hanging from the structure- such a creative way to make that space even more special! Here's a shot of Dave chatting with their officiant, awaiting his bride...

Bevin had a blast getting ready with her ladies in the bridal suite- hair and makeup was done by her sister and bridesmaid, Nora. Nora also made the beautiful fascinators for all of the ladies' hair. Check out the necklace too- made for Bevin by her friend's mother, Sharon.

Kate and Tom's Wedding at the New England Aquarium

We had a wonderful time working with Kate and Tom at their wedding! What's not to love...Kate is gorgeous and couldn't be any nicer (must be that southern hospitality she learned growing up in Arkansas), Tom was dapper and a true gentleman through and through, and... there were penguins! A triple threat!

After the Park photos, the couple walked back down to the Aquarium. Tom joined the guests for a pre-ceremony Cocktail Hour, while Kate hid upstairs with the girls until the ceremony began and she could make her entrance

The guests headed inside to the Penguin Pit area and waited for the ceremony to begin while the String Quartet played

Kate and her dad made their trek down the long ramp to meet Tom, with those penguins looking on!

Is this not an amazing and unique setting for a wedding?

I love this one...

Katie and Nick's Trash the Dress Session

We had a blast with Katie and Nick at Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, MA over the weekend for their Trash the Dress session! They were both troopers and were totally willing to go all in. Thanks to you both for being so awesome to work with, yet again!!

Here are some photos from Melissa and Ben's wedding on July 16th, 2011 at the Turner Hill Mansion in Ipswich, MA. Gorgeous day, venue and a wonderful couple!!

This cake was amazing and so was the beautiful bride, Melissa! She was one of the most easy going and sincere brides we've ever had the pleasure to work with! Check out that lovely Vera Wang gown...

Melissa told us ahead of time that it would be tough to catch Ben with his "real" smile- turned out he wore it quite a bit that day!

Such a great wedding party! Everyone was super fun and they certainly weren't shy in front of the camera

Antonia and David's Wedding

Here are a few selections from Antonia and David's wedding on July 2nd, 2011. The ceremony was at St. Vasilios in Peabody and the reception was at the Danversport Yacht Club.

I was in love with Antonia's dress- it looked absolutely stunning on her! Check out the shot Seth got of the gorgeous chandelier at St. Vasilios Church during the ceremony.

The Church was beautiful- this was my first time in a Greek Orthodox Church and I was so impressed by the ornate decoration.
